有趣的繪本對大人小孩有著難以抗拒的吸引力! MaMa Says憑藉著豐富的中文經驗，我們將帶著孩子從唸繪本開始，認識故事，透過練習，讓孩子充分熟悉故事中的主要生詞與句型，進而自己懂得變換與造句，甚至發展出自己的故事。一週五天，循序漸進，用繪本故事練習造句及寫作能力!

Child and Adult Courses
Adult
If you hope to interacte with your children in daily life or want to learn more about children activities in Mandarin, welcome to join "parenting class." We not only exchange parenting experiences and observations, but also learn the relevant Mandarin words and concepts. We will discuss one topic every week, such as family stories, encouragement and so forth. In April 2023, we will provide an online parenting Mandarin classes for you.
Tutoring
Based on individual needs, we also provide one-on-one teaching and personal curriculum. Get in touch with us via email so we can design a course specifically for you!
Children
Experiential learning activities ranging from simple tasks to more complex courses help children concentrate and stimulate their curiosity. Children are more likely to express their sensory experiences and feelings in Mandarin. From March - May 2023, we provide the regular and themed learning classes for age 5-9 students.

In anticipation of the upcoming Lunar New Year, MaMa Says will guide children through the exploration of New Year stories, offering blessings and positive words. Together, we will make an essential New Year dish: auspicious golden ingot dumplings. We will also unleash our imagination to decorate vibrant and lucky red envelopes. Children can not only learn Chinese but also gain an understanding of traditional Lunar New Year customs.

元宵節，是一年當中第一個月圓之夜，也是一元復始，大地回春的夜晚。 因此，MaMa Says也會帶著孩子認識元宵節、搓湯圓、鬧花燈、猜燈謎.....當然也要自己來做一個美美的燈籠， 讓孩子在美國也能有濃濃的中國新年味。
Lantern Festival. It marks the first full moon night of the year, symbolizing new beginnings and the rejuvenation of the earth. Therefore, MaMa Says will introduce children to the Lantern Festival, where they will learn to make tangyuan (sweet rice dumplings), enjoy lantern parades, solve lantern riddles, and, of course, create beautiful lanterns themselves. This way, even in the United States, children can experience the rich flavors of the Chinese New Year.

Tangyuan and XiaoLongBao are always welcome by the children. We do not necessarily have to buy in the restaurants or supermarkets. These are easy to make at home with parents.
MaMa Says Food Science & Cooking Class in Mandarin -科學小食堂中文課
"Oh, this food is health, you should eat more," or "this is full of starch, it is bad for you." What are "healthy food" or "unhealthy food"? This class will lead children to observce what the starchy foods are and how to test it. They will also test the “color” of food based on food pH value. Be a scientist in the kitchen.

The art and science of sewing is a valuable skill that allows kids to enjoy the creative process, develop fine motor skills, improve their concentration, and learn how to work with their hands. In this time, we will take children to sew their own, specific purse or pencil case. We believe children will be very proud of themselves when they are done.
Chinese Immersion Summer Camp ~ 2023 Happy Summer Fair
In August, we will have a special 2023 Happy Summer Fair at Yo-Yo. We have a variety of indoor and outdoor activities every day. We will do beautiful handcraft, make health snacks and read stories in the classroom. When we go out to the playgrounds, lots of "water" games are waiting for us, such as bubble blowing, water blasters, washing and playing.......

Oct. 20 is the Professional Development Day in Edmonds School District. There will be a one no-school day. Why don't we have a one-day Fall Camp in Mandarin? We will have a storytime in the early morning, and some sewing/art class later. Nearly the noon, we also have a cooking time. Children will have an experience to prepare their snack. The menu would be dumplings and fruit smoothies. The camp would be an interesting camp full of creation. Welcome to join us!

Get ready for hours of immersive paper-folding fun with origami world. Starting from basic items triangular pyramid, six-dimensional dice, to octagonal box, the class instructors teach the dimensional concept step by step.
Sewing is the other fun hand-making activity that allows kids to develop fine motor skills, improve their concentration, and learn how to work with their hands. In this time, we will take children to sew colorful owl key chain in the sewing skill. Children will be very proud of themselves when they are done.

In regular class, teachers lead interesting monthly topics with storybooks, handicrafts, interactive games, and more. In this immersive environment, children learn Mandarin through experiential activities that utilize all five senses. Designed with the concept of monthly topics in mind, each session is composed of four classes (1 hour each class). We have three types of regular classes for different learning stages: Makers, Brainstormers and Little Writers. By comparing pre and post class learnings, we can get an idea of the progress being made.

「30分鐘繪本魔力課」每週為孩子打開中文之門，透過成語故事、文化生活、小品故事等繪本，為孩子置身制定每個階段的閱讀進度與學習目標，每周以短短30分鐘的時間，Online聽故事、擴充詞彙，並透過九種中文句型增強口說中文的能力。讓繪本魔力讓孩子中文學習更有趣!
“Story” is the most intersting tool to learn languages. “30-miu Short Story Time” weekly helps students learn mandarin via idiom stories,cultual life, children’s short book etc. Setting up the customized learning goals based on students’ own Chinese proficiency. Through a series of online class, we set the clear learning goals and lead the students to read a story and broaden their word recognition and verbal communication. Through the 9 chinese sentence patterns, students can learn sentences and extend their storytelling practice.

Based on DACC system, developed by the Chinese Language and Technology Center in National Taiwan Normal University (師大華語文與科技研究中心), students are assessed their own Chinesee proficiency. Teachers choose the suitable short stories to read with students.

MaMa Says 2024 中文閱讀與寫作夏令營
孩子是不是認識了中文字，但不知道怎麼表達?
孩子是不是看到了中文字，但是仍舊沒有感動?
孩子是不是聽到了中文字，但是好像沒有共鳴?
這次，我們讓孩子藉由故事、觀察、五感體驗等方式，抓住感動，寫下紀錄，循序漸進，增添中文世界的閱讀力與寫作力!
【課程設計：五感觀察=>細節描述=>事物聯想=>中文寫作】
過去，孩子的中文僅限於中文教材的內容，沒有與生活、感受、感動互相連結。本次課程就是讓孩子打開五感，從「觀察」開始，透過「細節描述」與「事物聯想」，引導孩子豐富感官，激發創意與想像，進而從互動中提升對中文的使用能力，寫出有生命力的文字內容，激發大腦裡的想像力及創造力！
【課程活動：情境式引導，趣味性活動，增加中文表達能力】
此次課程，將安排為情境式作文課，引導孩子說出他所看到/聽到/聞到/嚐到/接觸到的感受，結合及趣味語文課、錯別字大挑戰等趣味活動，增加孩子的興趣，讓孩子擴展視野，在情境式的引導下寫出想像力及創造力！
